Macerie (Rubble) is a film about fear, insecurity, and hidden desires. A girl confides in a trusted person about her fear of the water. Often, fears breed phobias and trigger incessant, whirling thoughts. Along with her terror of drowning, the protagonist begins to reveal the uncertainties of her tumultuous world. Her external chaos is portrayed visually in the form of endless construction sites, whereas her internal chaos reveals her doubts and desires about love, family, motherhood, travel and death.
